My research brings together three interconnected areas of work. Across all of them, I am committed to equity, diversity, and justice.
Tertiary education
I study tertiary education policy and practice, including higher education, skills, and lifelong learning. I am interested in the purposes of tertiary education, how it interacts with wider changes in society, and the roles it can play in people's lives and our collective futures.

Research on Research
My work examines research cultures, assessment, professionals, and wider research and innovation ecosystems. I am interested in how research is organised, valued, governed, and experienced, and how research systems can recognise diverse forms of knowledge and contribution.

Internationalisation and global higher education
I study internationalisation and the global dynamics of higher education, including how people move across borders, how knowledge circulates, and how institutions connect internationally. My work examines academic mobility, global knowledge systems, and how relationships across countries and regions interact with different knowledge traditions, global inequalities, and changing geopolitical conditions.
